Alpha-Gal Syndrome

A defect or a variation of how elastic a person’s tissues are.

What is Alpha -Gal Syndrome?

Alpha-Gal Syndrome (AGS) is a serious allergic reaction to a sugar molecule found in most mammal meat products (beef, pork, and lamb, venison) dairy products, gelatin, and some medications or medical products. It is often triggered after a bite from the Lone Star tick.

Unlike traditional food allergies, symptoms may appear several hours (3-6 hours) after eating, which makes it difficult to diagnose. Early recognition and proper management are essential for improving quality of life.
