Dr. Charles Van Tuyl, born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1942, is a distinguished psychiatrist and scholar. He earned his B.A. in Religion Studies from Yale University in 1964 and later a Ph.D. in Inner Asian Studies from Indiana University in 1972. After teaching at Bacone College, he pursued a career change, obtaining his M.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 1987.
Dr. Van Tuyl’s approach to psychiatry integrates his Christian faith when appropriate, emphasizing conservative medication practices and promoting healthy lifestyles.
