Nikkira Barnes, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, NNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Neonatal Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals and families. Born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and raised in Tulsa, Nikkira is proud to serve the community she has called home for more than 20 years.

Nikkira earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2011 and her Master of Science in Nursing in 2020. She became board certified in Neonatology in 2020 and expanded her expertise by earning board certification in Family Medicine in 2026. Her diverse clinical background allows her to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care while focusing on the unique needs of every patient.

Her passion for medicine comes from a lifelong calling to serve others. Guided by her faith in Jesus Christ, Nikkira believes every patient deserves to be treated with compassion, humility, dignity, and respect. She strives to build meaningful relationships with her patients by listening carefully, understanding their concerns, and partnering with them to achieve their health goals.

Nikkira chose to join Axis Healthcare because it allows her to combine evidence-based medicine with a personalized approach to care. She values creating an environment where patients feel heard, respected, supported, and empowered to take an active role in their health.

Outside of the clinic, Nikkira enjoys spending quality time with her husband of more than 14 years and their two daughters. She is also passionate about praise dancing and serves as the Youth Director at her church, where she enjoys mentoring and encouraging young people.
