Betty Skakalsky is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to individuals and families across the lifespan. Born in Texas and raised throughout Oklahoma, Betty brings a deep appreciation for community and connection to her work in the Tulsa area.

Betty earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma in 2015 and achieved her LCSW licensure in 2021. She specializes in working with individuals, families, and infants, with a focus on depression, anxiety, parent-child interaction, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), and Bipolar Disorder. Her clinical approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and attachment-based methods—ensuring that every treatment plan is thoughtfully tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.

Betty chose Axis because of the strong commitment to patient-centered care and the organization’s respect and support for its clinicians. She believes that healing begins with feeling heard, understood, and supported.

Clients working with Betty can expect encouragement and a positive, optimistic perspective. She recognizes that reaching out for help is a courageous first step. Together, she partners with clients to process life’s challenges, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. Betty believes that even small shifts in thought patterns and daily behaviors can restore joy and improve overall well-being—and she is passionate about helping her clients rediscover that happiness.

Outside of her professional life, Betty enjoys “hobby hopping,” with her current passion being baking and perfecting sourdough bread. She loves spending weekends at game nights with family and friends, attending estate sales, enjoying time with her husband, and sneaking in a well-earned nap. She is married with grown children and shares her home with a few very spoiled chihuahuas.

Betty’s unique life experiences have shaped her positive and hopeful outlook, which she brings into every session—offering warmth, empathy, and practical tools to help clients move forward with confidence.
